I have always enjoyedÂ PulaoÂ in Nepal and wanted to make it very simple. However, IÂ ended up making it in the rice cooker and it turned out so good. I was so tired of having steamed rice almost every day and wanted to make something more savory.
- Prep Time : 4 minutes
- Cook Time : 15 minutes
1.Take 2 cups of Basmati Rice and soak it in luke warm water for 10-15 minutes.
2.While the rice is soaking plug the rice cooker and set it on cook until it's heated.
3.Once it's heated pour 1 tablespoon of clarified butter(ghee).
4.Once the ghee is heated add the crushed cardamom,bay leaves along with cloves.
5.Now, drain the water from the rice and add it to the rice cooker and stir it evenly.
6.After 2 minutes add 150 ml of water and stir it evenly and add another 200 ml later.
7.Now,heat up the pan and add 1 tablespoon of clarified butter(ghee).
8.Once it's heated add the cashews,raisins and coconuts until it turns golden in color.
9.Once you see the water getting dried out and rice cooked properly add all the ingredients and stir it evenly.
10.Let it cook until it sets back to warm setting.
